Who We Are
The Women’s Health Coalition of Arizona (WHC) is a grassroots organization, founded under the direction of Lonnie Jones in 2006. The Coalition was formed by a small group of concerned community members and providers who are interested in closing the gaps to the accessing of community services experienced by the growing population of racial and ethnic minority groups throughout Arizona.
WHC acts as a catalyst for change and creates partnerships among community groups, non-profit organizations, professional associations, businesses, and government agencies. It supports community change by offering services in outreach, health education, focus group facilitation and recruitment, community asset mapping, and health event management. The WHC works to strengthen communities by building healthy communities, one community at a time.
Our Mission
The Mission of Women’s Health Coalition of Arizona is to promote access to health care. To identify under-served populations in targeted communities with barriers to accessing appropriate health care; to advocate for adequate and appropriate services and to educate and empower these communities to be active participants in their own health care.
